Who is Randall Cunningham and what is his connection to El Paso?
Randall Cunningham is a former quarterback most known for playing with the Philadelphia Eagles. El Paso has a street named after him & there’s a very good reason why.
So why does El Paso have a street named after an Eagles quarterback?
Back in 2011, Randall came to the El Paso Marriott to give a speech for the El Paso chapter of the Drowning Prevention Coalition. This was a year after his 2 year old tragically drowned at his home. As a sign of extreme gratitude (and respect) for Randall coming to El Paso, Randall was given a key to the city & a street was named after him, his son Christian, and another El Paso boy (Christian Castle) who also drowned at the age of 4. You can find these streets between Edgemere & Pebble Hills (and all 3 streets are next to each other. And if you need another landmark, look for the Spanish Castle Park; that’s where you’ll find all 3.
