The Drowning Prevention Coalition of El Paso is participating in numerous Health Fairs and Water Safety Events this summer.
On May 1, 2025, we held our annual Media Day 10am-12pm at Westside Pool. DPC Water Safety Members shared safety info with media for Water Safety Month. El Paso Fire Water Rescue Team and Westside City Lifeguards demonstrated different water rescues. Gus, Goldie and Freddy the Frog were helping inform public about importance of swim lessons and safety rules around the pool.
May 17, 2025, Kids to Park Day at Lomaland Park 715 Lomita. The event was from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. DPC had Water Watcher Cards and safety materials for parents.
June 4,2025, Campo Del Sol Northeast El Paso http://campodelsol.com/ (New housing area HOA that has lazy River and splash pad. DPC will give water safety presentation to home owners on how to be safe in and around the Lazy River and splash pads. The importance of emphasizing Water Watchers and constant adult supervision.
June 6, 2025, 12pm-4 pm Safe Summer Kick Off with City Public Health Dept 11:00-5:00 @ Grandview ParK 3100 Jefferson. Water Safety /Drowning Prevention Info.
BASSETT SAFETY TOWN: FREE Five sessions to choose from JUNE 9-13; June 23-27; JULY 7-11; JULY 14-18; JULY 21-25 from10am-12 noon. Graduation on Fridays with Safety Mascots. (Each Tuesday DPC will provide 15 MIN Water Safety Lesson FOR 5-6 YEAR OLDS. Police, Fire Dept and others will provide safety info. FOR MORE INFO 915-772-7106
June 20, 2025 (HOPES Parents as Teachers Parent Educator) (United Way) Water Safety Presentation to Parents & kids ages 1-4 about 25 Groups of Parents/kids.

Aug 1, 2025 at 7:00 am Christian Castle Lifeguard Olympics Training @ Wet N Wild.
AUG 3, 2025, (Sun)7:00 am -noon. CHRISTIAN CASTLE LIFEGUARD OLYMPICS. El Paso Lifeguards from City, County, Water Parks, Wet Wild, Ft Bliss, YMCA,& YWCA compete in events that showcase the skills lifeguards use to save lives.
