May is Drowning Prevention Month. Drowning is # 1 killer of children ages 1-4. Safety in and around water should be a priority and children need diligent supervision.
The Drowning Prevention Coalition will be hosting a MEDIA NEWS CONFERENCE on May 1, 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Westside Pool 650 Wallenberg. El Paso Water Rescue & City Lifeguards will demonstrate water rescues. Other community members will be available for water safety/swim lesson info include: City & County Aquatics, Wet N Wild Waterworld, YWCA, YMCA, El Paso Water Parks, UMC Trauma, El Paso Water, ISR Infant Self Rescue, Tx Parks& Wild Life, Gus,Goldie & Freddie the Frog Mascots. www.dpcelpaso.org
