Lifeguard Shortages across the country

Here is a insightful article about lifeguard shortages around the country. Due to Covid many classes had limited capacity and some pools were closed. Here in El Paso we added a new 50 meter indoor pool along with 4 outdoor mini water parks putting a strain on already short supply of qualified/certified personnel. Water Parks have a different certification than guards that work at pools. Those interested in becoming a lifeguard can enroll and take classes during winter break.
